Key Points
The 2007 guidelines were developed to update the 2000 Joint Committee on Infant Hearing (JCIH) position statement principles and to support the goals of universal access to hearing screening, evaluation, and intervention for newborn and young infants embodied in Healthy People 2010. The guidelines provide information on the development and implementation of successful early hearing detection and intervention systems.
