Sara Misurelli, AuD, PhD, is an assistant professor and director of audiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Surgery. Dr. Misurelli also serves as audiology supervisor at UW Health University Hospital and holds an affiliate role in the UW-Madison Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Her clinical practice includes adult diagnostics, cochlear implants, and hearing aids. Dr. Misurelli’s research focuses on clinic efficiency models and effective communication in complex environments for people who use amplification and/or cochlear implants and disparities in hearing-health care.

Dr. Misurelli has taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at UW-Madison, including hearing science and implantable devices. She has also championed projects within the health system focusing on equitable care in hospital settings for individuals with hearing loss, streamlining care models, and growth and enhancement of the cochlear implant program. Outside of audiology, Dr. Misurelli enjoys spending time with her family, running, and visiting Disney World.
