Chelsea Byard, AuD, completed her clinical doctorate at Indiana University and her externship at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2016. Dr. Byard is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Department at Indiana University, where she serves as the educational audiologist for the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) district, supervises graduate audiology clinicians in their offsite placement at IPS, and teaches the graduate-level educational audiology course. Dr. Byard’s professional interests include pediatric diagnostics, early intervention, educational audiology, vestibular assessments, and curriculum development.

Dr. Byard remains active with several audiology organizations. She currently serves as the vice president of audiology for Indiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA), serves on the Indiana Pediatric Audiology Coalition Planning Committee, is a member of the Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education (CDHHE) Advisory Committee, assists on the Educational Audiology Association 2025 Conference Planning Committee, and attends the Indiana Deaf and Hard of Hearing Educators Round Table Workshops.

Dr. Byard is passionate about volunteering with Give Kids the World and Make-A-Wish of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana when opportunities arise. Outside of her career in audiology, she enjoys reading, golfing, hiking, and traveling. Dr. Byard lives in the Indianapolis area with her husband (Colin), daughter (Scarlett), two goldendoodles (Jax and Oliver), and 16-pound cat (Mac).
