Every year, the Academy asks colleagues, friends, and mentees to look around their professional circles and identify members who are deserving of recognition for outstanding service to audiology and the hearing sciences. Angela Shoup, AuD

Dr. Shoup is hailed for her humility, reliability, and dedication to audiology’s advancement. Her impactful career spans clinical care, teaching, research, and advocacy. She champions improved outcomes for those with hearing and balance challenges. Dr. Shoup’s extensive research covers newborn hearing screening, cytomegalovirus impact on hearing, implantable devices, and vestibular disorders. Devin McCaslin, PhD

Dr. McCaslin, is recognized for groundbreaking contributions to audiology, particularly the vestibular sciences. With a focus on assessments, electrophysiology, and AI applications, he has authored textbooks, over 100 publications, and led numerous research projects. As the Jerger Career Award for Research in Audiology recipient, Dr. McCaslin’s impactful research and leadership in audiology, healthcare economics, and technology showcase his dedication to advancing the field and improving patient care. Amit Gosalia, AuD

Dr. Gosalia, embodies passion, patient care, and support for colleagues. Actively engaged in advocacy, awareness, and student precepting, he contributes to the Academy through volunteering, presentations, and published works. Dr. Gosalia educates the community through media, initiated the AudBoss Summit for business management, and participates in nonprofits. He receives the 2024 Clinical Excellence Award from the American Academy of Audiology for his exemplary patient care and contributions to the profession. Read More.


Early-Career Audiologist Award

Aaron Roman, AuD

Dr. Roman, earned his AuD, MA, and BA from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently an assistant professor at Salus University, he also works as a clinical audiologist at the Pennsylvania Ear Institute. Dr. Roman is dedicated to volunteerism in the audiology field, serving in various roles nationally. His passion extends to advancing the field, evident in his prolific research, presentations, and leadership roles. Recognized for his contributions, he received the 2024 Early-Career Audiologist Award from the Academy, reflecting his commitment to education, research, and patient care. Read More.
