President’s Message:
President’s Challenge—Giving Back (December 2021)

Accept the President's Challenge

  • President's Message

Academy president Sarah Sydlowski, AuD, PhD, MBA, is joined by Academy Foundation Board of Trustees chair, Lisa Vaughan, AuD, to announce the next President’s Challenge! From now through the end of the year, accept the challenge and donate to the AAA Foundation. Watch the video or read the transcript below to learn more.

Donate Now!

Sarah: Hi everyone, I’m Sarah Sydlowski, AuD, PhD, MBA, president of the American Academy of Audiology and I’m joined by former Academy president and current chair of the American Academy of Audiology Foundation Board of Trustees, Lisa Vaughan, AuD, to announce the next President’s Challenge!

Lisa: That’s right, Sarah. As we just wrapped up Thanksgiving this past week, one of the things I’m most grateful for is our generous donors. Thanks to their donations, we can fund scholarships, research grants, and help connect patients to YOU through Find an Audiologist and our recent SEO initiative.

Sarah: While we’re giving thanks for our amazing donors, we also invite you to share your gratitude for the Academy by donating to the Foundation. Since we’re just about to wrap up 2021, this President’s Challenge is to make a donation to the American Academy of Audiology Foundation of at least $20.21 and challenge at least one other colleague or fellow audiologist to join you in doing the same.

Lisa: Feeling really grateful? Amplify your donation to $200.21 or even $2000.21!

Sarah: That would be amazing, Lisa! You know what else would be outstanding?

Lisa: Getting 2021 donors?

Sarah: Absolutely! Giving Tuesday takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, November 30, 2021. This is an annual day of global giving and generosity and we hope all of you will join us in taking the opportunity to give to the initiatives that support research, education, and public awareness through the Foundation.

Lisa: Make your donation at the Foundation before the end of 2021 and you can display this notice on your social media with #AAAFGiving21. Tag your friends to take the challenge and keep the giving going! Sarah, you’re definitely on my challenge list…have you made your donation yet?

Sarah: Absolutely, Lisa, I wouldn’t miss it! Now it’s our members’ turn…get out there and take on the challenge!
